Mechanical Sensor
Even when winding similar spool types, manufactured to similar tolerances, it is still necessary to continually adjust the traverse mechanism after repeated spool changes, to maintain the accuracy of the wind.
For our Linear Bi-directional Gear Box we have now
developed a robust and cost effective mechanical flange detection unit for parallel flanged spools.
This unit allows the initial reversing point for successive spools to remain constant, and not be re-determined. Two detecting arms swivel in to sensitively touch the inner faces of the flanges
and then swivel out immediately after contact.
The advantage of this simple mechanical unit is its
reliability and its insensitivity to disturbance while
operating precisely.
